Homeschooling or Dental Work?
Some homeschooling moments remind me of visiting my dentist’s office. My dentist definitely has the most spectacular views but he is way gentler on my nerves than this little cute twerp when he is supposed to be doing school work (2nd photo is my dentist’s office).
Leaving Vietnam, heading to Palawan, Philippines
After a slow start in Hanoi, we grew to love Vietnam. It wasn’t love at first sight for me but after spending a whole month here, I’m now sold on all the charms of Vietnam. My family made fun of me for this turn around, especially in light of my obsessive listening to the “Hello … More Leaving Vietnam, heading to Palawan, Philippines
Hanoi, Vietnam (part 2)
January 22 – 24, 2020 Form Hoi An, we went back to Hanoi for a quick stopover before we flew out to the Philippines. These two nights in Hanoi were extra special because we spent them again in Ana and Simon’s home but this time, with their family there too. Even though I’ve seen Ana … More Hanoi, Vietnam (part 2)
Hoi An, Vietnam
January 16 – 22, 2020 We got a private van with a driver to take us from Hue to Hoi An, about 110 miles south. This was a good option considering that the price of 5 train tickets back to Da Nang and then an additional transfer service from Da Nang to Hoi An would … More Hoi An, Vietnam
Hue, Vietnam
January 12 – January 16, 2020 After 4 days in Da Nang, it was time to move again. We took a train to Hue, about 60 miles north of Da Nang. Train travel was great for us even though it’s not always the most economical, practical or efficient option for a family of 5. Whenever … More Hue, Vietnam

January 8 – January 12, 2020 The morning we were to leave Hanoi, Ana, Simon, and the kids returned back from Europe. We crossed paths for only a few minutes, but enough to exchange a few words, some hugs and for Nina to look through their passports (his current obsession). From Hanoi, we flew to … More Da Nang, Vietnam
Our Experience with Healthcare Around the World
Our family of 5 has been on an extended journey outside of the US for the past 10 months. During this time, we have seen several doctors, had over a dozen physical therapies and even more sessions with two osteopaths and all of us have had lab work done at some point. This occurred across … More Our Experience with Healthcare Around the World
Hanoi, Vietnam (Part 1)
December 25, 2019– January 8, 2020 From the beaches of Thailand, we flew up to Hanoi, Vietnam. Hanoi turned out to be our home-away-from-home. My cousin’s cousin (and now considered our honorary cousin too) Ana and her family have been living in Vietnam for little over a year. They offered us to stay with them, … More Hanoi, Vietnam (Part 1)
Happy New Year
It’s 5am on 1/1/20 in Hanoi and most of our family and friends are still waiting to step into 2020. So this is a greeting from “the future” for all of them! We peacefully stepped into a new year a few hours ago and even had enough time to sleep the celebrations off. All the … More Happy New Year
